The automobile maker is set to issue 30 limited editions of its NFTs on April 20 to celebrate the release of the short film.
South Korean automaker Hyundai announced on April 17 that it was diving into the community NFTs market. To achieve this, the firm is collaborating with the NFT brand Meta Kongz. The announcement makes Hyundai the first automobile company to enter the community-based market.
According to the release, the firm also announced the launch of its channels on Twitter and Discord and the pending launch of its website. While the Twitter and Discord channels are already live, the website will go live in May. Through these channels, the company plans to maintain communication with community members even as it manages the value of its NFTs.
Additionally, the automaker debuted a short movie introducing its Metamobility Universe. The company started to talk about the Metamobility universe in January during the CES 2022. At that event, the automobile company shared its vision of a future where mobility is expanded using virtual reality.
In the film, a gorilla character named Meta Kongs drives from Earth to the Moon. It conceptualizes how mobility solutions in the metaverse can help transcend time and space. The film also features a star-shaped NFT which will be released in May.
Community NFTs to Project Hyundai’s Metamobility Initiative
Hyundai’s Global Chief Marketing Officer, Thomas Schemera, noted the company is delighted at introducing Metamobility to its community through the NFTs.
He went on to say that “the NFT universe will extend the firm’s brand experience, especially with the MZ generation, in a completely new way, further reinforcing our commitment to innovation in both the real world and in the metaverse”.
The automobile maker is set to issue 30 limited editions of its NFTs on April 20 to celebrate the release of the short film. These releases will continue throughout the year even as the Hyundai NFT universe continues to expand. As to profit, Hyundai plans to All profits made from the sale of the Hyundai NFTs will be used to manage the project and the community.
Unlike Hyundai, several automakers are also entering the market, but without their community. Indian firm, Mahindra for example recently released its first set of NFTs. Italian carmaker, Lamborghini, also announced the launch of a space-themed artwork named ‘Space key’. Likewise, Mc Lauren Automotive is partnering with InfiniteWorld to launch an NFT collection using the brand’s luxury cars.
