Zcash Aims to Boost Private Payments Speed with November Upgrade

Zcash is targeting a November upgrade to significantly enhance the speed of private transactions. The upgrade, dubbed NU7, aims to reduce block times to 25 seconds, a substantial decrease from the current 1.5 minutes. This increase in transaction processing speed will enable faster and more efficient private payments. Additionally, the upgrade will reserve at least 60% of transaction fees to supplement mining rewards starting in 2031. This move is intended to incentivize miners to secure the network and ensure the continued health of the Zcash ecosystem.
